Over 20 Northwest Automotive Press Association journalists gathered to test an assortment of cars on various roadways at this year's annual "Mudfest" event, and out of all the day's competition, we're proud to announce that the 2014 Jeep Cherokee was crowned "Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year!" On top of such an outstanding honor, the Cherokee also won in the Compact Utility Class and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee took the throne in the Premium Standard Utility class, confirming Jeep as a brand dedicated to creating high-quality utility vehicles that leave a lasting impression.

Over the course of the two-day NWAPA event, held in Snoqualmie, Wash., 23 cars from 16 different automakers were tested on an autocross, as well as paved and off-road routes. Winners were chosen in five categories, compact utility, family utility, premium utility, premium compact utility and extreme capability vehicles, and one overall winner was picked for the top honor. Following a series of tests, NWAPA journalists found that the 2014 Jeep Cherokee performed the best out of all the contenders and it was named "Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year."

"The 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk was named the winner based on its outstanding performance, off-road capabilities, features, fuel economy and value after rigorous testing," said Ryan Douthit, Co-Chair of the event. "The new Cherokee represents a near-perfect blend of the features and performance that northwest buyers expect."
