Chrysler fans listen up, because a new model under the name "Rebel" could be a part of the brand's future lineup. It was recently revealed that Chrysler has filed a request in the U.S. to trademark the name "Rebel" for "motor vehicle" purposes, which could be a hint that the automaker has a few plans up its sleeve that have yet to be revealed to the masses. However, from time to time car manufacturers do file for trademarks without ever using the names - but we're remaining optimistic.
The Rebel moniker is no stranger to the automotive industry. In fact, it was used by American Motors Corporation before Chrysler bought the company in the late '80s. The mid-size car that inherited the name was dubbed the Rambler Rebel and came in a variety of models, including a station wagon and muscle car. The signature has not been used since AMC closed its doors and there's no telling what Chrysler will do with it if their request to renew the trademark is approved. Who knows - we could see an all-new version of the Rambler Rebel appear in the next few years or a special Rebel trim level of one of the brand's famed series' such as the Dodge Challenger or Ram 1500. Only time will truly tell what Chrysler has in store for the Rebel moniker, but one thing's for sure: the possibilities are endless.
