Richardson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram got in on the Ice Bucket Challenge last month, and we have the pictures to prove it. Challenged by another local dealership, the managers of Richardson CJDR agreed to have buckets of freezing ice water poured over their heads, all to raise awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as "Lou Gehrig's Disease."
The challenge took place last month on Wednesday, August 26th on a breezy 95° day in front of the Richardson CJDR dealership. All of RCJDR's managers took part in the challenge, including General Manager, Shannon Ashford.
After everyone had dried off, Mr. Ashford was proud to announce that Richardson CJDR will be making a donation to the ALS Association. He then challenged more of Richardson's fine dealerships to take up the cause.
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has raised more than $100 million for the ALS Association this year and doesn't seem to be slowing down. Over 5,500 people are diagnosed with ALS every year in the U.S., and it is the hope of all of us here at Richardson CJDR that we will see an end to this terrible disease.
Check out the picture above to see our mangers in all their ice bucket glory, and be sure to visit the ALS Association's website to donate or volunteer to help in the fight against ALS.
