Have you been looking for a fun, safe place to take your pooch? Then look no further than Richardson’s brand-new Bush Central Barkway. The Barkway is Richardson’s first-ever dog park and is the perfect place to bring your best friend for a fun day in the sun!
The Barkway opened earlier this month to woofs of excitement from Richardson’s many dogs and their owners. A six-acre park, the Barkway is open every day from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., except for Wednesdays, when the park opens at 10 a.m. The park includes separate areas for large dogs, small dogs and older dogs that might not want to play with such a rambunctious crowd. Owners can even rent out parts of the park for “doggy birthday parties.”
The Barkway has been a main focus for the City of Richardson for the last five years, after many local residents called for a park specifically for dogs. It is very exciting to see this latest edition to our city, which has grown into one of the most family- and doggy-friendly places in Texas.
The new Bush Central Barkway is located under the President George Bush Turnpike just west of US 75 on Central Expressway, which is just a short drive from Richardson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram!
