The 2015 Detroit Auto Show just closed its doors last month, but it looks like Chrysler is already planning for next year. In a tweet from their official Twitter account, Chrysler announced its intentions to debut their next minivan in January 2016.

During the Detroit show Chrysler head Sergio Marchionne said that the automaker would be investing up to $2 billion in their new next-gen minivan and retooling its Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario to accommodate the new production. This announcement is very exciting for the future of Chrysler’s family van lineup. Most likely the van in question will be the Town & Country, whose overhaul and new Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) version Chrysler hinted at a lot last year.

“It is my sincere hope that you’ll see it here on the stand next year,” Marchionne told reporters at the Auto Show.

There has been no confirmation that the Town & Country will be the new minivan that Chrysler is teasing, but many insiders believe that it will indeed be the popular minivan that will be on display in Detroit early next year.
