The Ram 3500 is taking on the Ford F-450 in a big way this coming model year. The 2016 edition of the truck will boast its most powerful engine yet: a 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine that generates 900 lb.-ft. of torque.
"Ram maintains leadership in all three pickup segments offering best-in-class fuel efficiency, best-in-class towing, best-in-class power and best-in-class payload," said Bob Hegbloom, President and CEO — Ram Truck Brand, FCA US. "Ram continues to break records in the most important consumer-driven titles of the pickup truck market and we're not slowing down."
This exceptional new Ram powertrain is the perfect hauler for any major job, thanks to its best-in-class towing capability of 31,210 pounds. Ram already has bragging rights on best-in-class towing and payload on its current 2015 Ram 3500, but it looks like the automaker wants to continue its domination for the newest model year. On top of the new powertrain, drivers will also find other changes and updates on the 3500, including a few interior updates, as well as some new external touches.
