Ram Trucks debuted one of their most interesting concepts in years at this year's Dallas Auto Show: the Texas Rangers Special Edition Ram 1500. The truck is a specialty concept that was created to highlight the ongoing partnership the automaker has with the renowned law enforcement group.
The new 1500 features Rangers-inspired badging on its exterior, as well as on its 20-inch alloy wheels. The car’s color scheme is also a nod to the lawmen and their white hats and silver badges. The truck also incorporates many points of the Rangers’ history, including their use of Mexican coins in their badges. These coins are now present on the truck’s front and back doors.
The new 1500’s interior is decked out in Canyon Brown and Tan leather that also features Rangers’ badging, while the truck’s instrument panel, console and seatbacks are similarly decked out with the infamous five-point star.
"The Ram team developed this commemorative concept truck in order to further highlight our relationship with the Texas Rangers and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum," said Bob Hegbloom, President and CEO – Ram Truck. "Although Rangers are well-known horsemen, today Texans drive more pickups than drivers in any other state in the country.”
The new concept is set to tour the Rangers' home state of Texas as a way to get the word out about the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame and Museum. The truck is currently just a one-of-a-kind model, but if the concept gains a nice following, you might get the opportunity to take home your own version of the Texas Rangers Special Edition Ram 1500 at Richardson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram.
