The Dodge Viper ACR is racing back into the automaker’s lineup with not only new aerodynamic features, but also a new 645 hp 8.4-liter V10 engine. The new ACR is the most powerful version of the supercar yet, and it is heading to Richardson early next year.

Dodge President Tim Kuniskis said, “The Viper has always been more of a street-legal race car than a track-capable streetcar, and the new 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is the fastest street-legal Viper track car ever."

Dodge teased this supercharged Viper last year when it debuted the Viper ACR concept at SEMA. The concept was very much a track-focused car that boasted new aerodynamic features for improved performance. The new ACR mimics these features, which includes the aforementioned V10 engine, as well as Bilstein shocks, a “race-tuned” suspension, 19-inch custom wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes.

The newest version of the Snake also gets lighter weight amenities that Dodge says increases the car’s fuel economy, agility and speed. Speed is a significant focus for Dodge this go-arouind, with the Viper's new downforce features allowing the supercar to exceed 177 mph.
