In celebration of Black History Month, Sasha’s Dallas is holding a Harlem Renaissance Extravaganza! The party takes place on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, and presale tickets are available online. No tickets will be sold at the door, so make sure you purchase yours ahead of time if you’d like to attend.

The Extravaganza will bring the Harlem Renaissance era to the present, so guys wear your zoot suits and tailed tuxedos and ladies throw on your favorite evening dresses and flapper hair accessories. Live music will be provided by Shelley Carrol of the Duke Ellington Orchestra and his Big Band, who will perform tunes for you to swing, jitterbug and Lindy Hop to! In addition, top songs from the Harlem Renaissance period will be performed by various local musicians.

Along with great music, the party will include a poetry reading. VERB, who appeared on the third season of “Versus and Flow,” will recite works from Langston Hughes and other great poets. Plus, there will be a Classic Car Showcase for vintage car fans; the exhibit will include vehicles from the 1920s, ‘30s and ‘40s.

It’s all happening right here in Richardson, Texas, and the event is just around the corner! Semi-formal attire is required, so make sure you go in style. To learn more and find tickets online, visit the official page here.
