While we’re saying goodbye to the Chrysler Town & Country, there’s little reason to be sad for long, as its replacement offers an exciting new take on the minivan archetype. With greater range, a lighter weight design based on an all-new platform, and up-to-date features the whole family will enjoy, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica steps into the marketplace ready to claim the top spot in its class.

Gas & Hybrid Powertrains
The Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid will offer 80 mpge city and a 530-mile driving range, with a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine and electronically variable transmission with dual-motor EV drive capability. Power ratings for the hybrid are 248 horsepower and 230 pound-feet of torque.

The gas-only Pacifica uses the same V6 engine, which is attached to a nine-speed automatic transmission; with this model you’ll get 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy ratings for the gas variant are TBD as of this writing.

Most Tech-Savvy Minivan
Chrysler says the 2017 Pacifica will be the most technologically advanced minivan on the market. It offers over 100 standard and optional safety and driver-assist technologies, along with an abundance of entertainment features. From available Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist to an available Uconnect dual-screen Blu-ray and DVD system, and cool apps like Backseat Bingo and Sudoku, the Pacifica is designed to promote a fun driving experience for passengers of all ages.

More Space Than Town & Country
Pacifica maximizes everything that families need including space. It offers 200.7 cubic feet of interior volume according to SAE estimates, meaning plenty of room for passengers whether they’re in the first, second or third row. In addition, there’s plenty of cargo room with 140.5 cubic feet of space available when the second- and third-row seats are down. Chrysler's signature Stow 'N Go seating remains a highlight, allowing the back seats to fold into the floor to provide extra cargo space.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica Release Date
The gas-only Chrysler Pacifica is coming to Dallas-Fort Worth this spring. The Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid will arrive in DFW following this in the second half of 2016.
