New smartphone technology is coming to several 2017 Chrysler and Dodge models, offering more streamlined integration of apps and other mobile services. Apple CarPlay will be equipped on models with FCA’s Uconnect 4.0 infotainment system and sources say that it has a distinct look. Android Auto is also supported with the fourth-gen Uconnect interface. Check out a list of the system’s highlights below.

As stated above, the 2017 Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger will be available with the new tech, which will be displayed on a large 8.4-inch screen. FCA’s version includes additional screen controls alongside CarPlay, which differs from how it appears in cars from other manufacturers. The benefit of this is that drivers have access to more controls at one time, including infotainment and climate controls.
With Apple CarPlay, iPhone users will experience a similar interface as the one on their phones, making access to media apps, text messaging and more a breeze. Along with new smartphone integration, the Uconnect 4.0 infotainment system offers a faster start-up time, higher resolution display and improved processing power, which allows for pinch-to-zoom and other new touch functions.
