There are many similarities between the two models, but there are also some important differences that must be considered when trying to decide which model is right for you.

Heavy duty pickup trucks are often used for a wide variety of tasks, but one of the most common is towing heavy loads. Both the 2500 and 3500 are well equipped to handle different types of loads, and perform excellently in both ride quality and braking distance. Both the 2018 RAM 2500 and the 2018 RAM 3500 have uniquely designed suspensions that make them capable of handling large towing jobs without forcing occupants to suffer through an uncomfortably bumpy ride. In addition to being able to provide a smooth ride, these two models of truck are able to come to a stop very quickly, in fact, in a test done comparing numerous makes and models of heavy duty pickup trucks, the RAM 2500 had the shortest braking distance of the lot. One of the many improvements that was made with the 2018 model was an improvement to the torque supplied by the available Cummins diesel engine, which is an option with the RAM 3500. The torque output was increased by 30 foot pounds, giving it a little more power that enables it to better deal with various tasks. In acceleration tests, the 2500 performed slightly better than the 3500, able to go 0-60 and 50-70 about a second faster than the larger 3500.

Knowing the importance of providing consumers with numerous options to choose from, the designers of the RAM 2500 and RAM 3500 provided a wide variety of trim options that can be used to customize the exterior appearance of either model. Depending on your personal preferences, you can choose the Limited Tungsten Edition, with its chromed exterior and bold grille design, or the RAM HD Sport, which modifies the same grille from the Tungsten edition to make it match the color of the main truck body. For those interested in using this truck for agricultural purposes, the Harvest Edition makes the exterior color of the RAM 2500/3500 similar to that found on many different types of farm equipment. It also swaps out the tires for more durable all-terrain tires, for working in rougher conditions. If you also choose to go with four wheel drive, then tow hooks are also available to improve the versatility of the vehicle. New with the 2018 RAM 2500/3500 is a switch that activates LED bed lights, great for when you find yourself working in low light conditions.

The available Uconnect system in the RAM 2500 and 3500 is one of the best infotainment systems on the market for pickup trucks. With features like a 4G LTE hotspot for mobile phones, as well as syncing features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 8.4 inch touchscreen display that enables easy use of all of these features and more. Other available features include ports for both auxiliary and USB connections, navigation and real-time traffic and weather alerts, voice recognition, and the ability to sync your phone to the car’s computer through Bluetooth, which makes it possible to make and receive calls through the Uconnect system, freeing your hands to handle driving.
