A bold, contemporary design and fine interior fixings add even more appeal to this popular utility vehicle. Popular Interior Updates

New this model year on the 2017 Durango is the availability of a two-row configuration, which is standard on the base SXT grade. The other three trim levels--GT, Citadel and R/T--continue to offer the third row with seating for six or seven passengers. The GT trim is also new this year, coming as a replacement for the outgoing Limited trim.

Starting at GT, the Durango gets a boost of style with 20-inch alloy wheels, LED running lights, dual exhaust trips and a monochromatic trim. 2017 Dodge Durango reviews also applaud the creature comforts added at the GT level, including leather upholstery, heated seating, a heated steering wheel and an 8.4-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration and voice controls. For even more luxuries, buyers can opt for the premium Citadel or the sporty R/T trim.

Two Available Powertrains

The 2017 Durango's standard 3.6-liter V6 engine gives the SUV a considerable amount of power. Rated at about 290 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, V6 models also offer a towing capability of up to 6,200 lbs. For even more towing muscle, the R/T trim upgrades to a 5.7-liter V8 that delivers 360 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque while increasing the maximum towing limit to 7,400 lbs.

Both engine options on the 2017 Dodge Durango in the Dallas area are paired with a class-exclusive eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle-shifters, and can be had with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Great Standard and Available Safety Features

The 2017 Dodge Durango is designed with electronic stability and traction control, a load-leveling rear suspension, ready-alert braking and trailer sway damping to maintain peak performance in a variety of driving situations. The GT trim adds a rearview camera with trailer view and rear parking sensors, both of which many 2017 Dodge Durango reviews recommend splurging for.

Any Durango model with the 8.4-inch touchscreen also comes with emergency assistance and stolen vehicle tracking. Additionally, the 2017 Durango is available with semi-autonomous driving features like automatic cruise control, blind spot warning and forward collision warning with automatic braking.
