2019 Ram 2500 Trims & Features

The Ram 2500 comes in several different trims. At the base level, you have the Tradesman. Upgrades to the standard trim are the Big Horn, Power Wagon, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn Edition, and Limited. For some of the trims, you can choose whether you want a regular cab, four-door crew, or four-door mega cab and whether you'd like two- or four-wheel drive.

Each trim does offer its own unique features. For example, the Power Wagon has its own type of premium suspension, a factory lift kit, locking differentials in both the front and back and a 12,000-pound winch that lets you handle a variety of tasks at the job site. At the high end, the Laramie Longhorn and Limited trucks both come with 100% leather seating. The Limited includes real wood interior trim, and the Laramie Longhorn has a mountain brown interior color scheme with Filigree stitching. Sleek badging, beefed up wheels and tires, and additional design elements help to contribute to the style and the function of the different trims.

2019 Ram 2500 Exterior FrontThe 6.4L HEMI V8 engine is standard on the truck. It takes advantage of the efficiency that variable-cam timing provides, and it has a maximum horsepower of 410 and a maximum torque of 429 pound-feet of torque. The engine is responsible for the high towing and payload capacities, at 17,130 and 6,600 pounds, respectively. It's matched with an 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission that allows for smooth transitions and features electronic on-the-fly shift mapping.

An alternative to the HEMI is the 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel I6. Its the option for anyone with serious work to do, as a diesel Ram 2500 can tow up to 21,560 pounds. Its payload capacity is 5,730 pounds, and it can achieve 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque. The diesel engine is paired with a Corporate 68RFE six-speed automatic transmission that has optimized gear ratios.

The various warning systems can alert drivers to other vehicles or obstacles in their blind spots and ahead of them. In addition, the truck is the only one in its class that includes the Active Forward Lighting System. With this in place, the LED headlamps can turn up to 15 degrees to increase visibility at night. Available on the truck is Adaptive Cruise Control, in which a set distance can be maintained even in heavy traffic, as well as ParkSense Front and Rear Park Assist, a system that lets drivers better maneuver into small spots.
