The all-new Chrysler Pacifica was recently honored with the title of “Family Car of Texas,” beating out its competitors in a demanding two-day challenge at Texas Motor Speedway. FCA won more awards than any other automaker during the Texas Auto Roundup challenge, which is held annually by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA).
The brand-new minivan, offered in gas and hybrid variants, is one of the most exciting new options for families in the Dallas area. Along with bold styling and innovative connectivity features, it offers excellent V6 power and a plug-in hybrid model that promises up to 80 mpge city! The new minivan also provides greater cabin space than its predecessor, the Town & Country, and an incredible range of driver-assist technologies.
In addition to winning the “Family Car of Texas” title, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica also won “Minivan of Texas” and “Best New Interior” titles. Plus, its Uconnect Theater earned the “Best New Feature” award.

Several 2016 Dodge models also won honors, including the Charger R/T Scat Pack for “Full-size Sedan of Texas,” Charger SRT Hellcat for “Performance Sedan of Texas,” and Viper GTC for “Super Car of Texas.” In addition, the Dodge Viper earned the best scores of any model for performance and exterior design.
“FCA US brought an all-star lineup with several cars impressing our journalists. However, the design, functionality and practicality of the new Chrysler Pacifica really stood out from all the Family Car contenders,” said Nic Phillips, President of TAWA. “It’s truly entertaining to drive with friends and family, offers numerous safety options, and leads the segment in styling, all the while playing to traditional strengths of minivans.”
