All-wheel drive versions are fitted with a 2.4L four-cylinder that is optional on four-wheel drive models. It generates 172 horsepower and 165 lb.-ft. of torque. Sport models with the engine once again get a five-speed manual, while Latitude variants come with a six-speed automatic.

Noted in multiple 2017 Jeep Compass reviews, the 2.0L four-cylinder helps deliver an EPA-estimated 24 mpg combined, 22 city and 36 highway, while the 2.4L four-cylinder produces 23 mpg combined.
