What's New For the 2020 Jeep Cherokee?

The 2020 Jeep Cherokee doesn't bring many significant changes over the 2019 model. Some of the trims come with a new Advanced Safety Group, which includes both lane departure warning-plus forward-collision warning-plus. Additionally, the 2020 Cherokees now come with Alexa Skill through Chrysler's UConnect multimedia system. Apart from that, the 2020 Cherokee has two new exterior hues called Sangria and Spitfire Prange.

2020 Jeep Cherokee Has Varied Trim Levels & Countless Features

There are five main trim choices for the 2020 Jeep Cherokee. The base model (the Latitude) comes with a nice grouping of standard features, from power-heated outboard mirrors, auto-on headlights, and active grille shutters to a 3.5-inch gauge cluster display, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and keyless entry. The Latitude Plus adds 8-way power driver's seats, 17-inch aluminum wheels (the Latitude has 17-inch steel wheels), upgraded cloth seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Going with the Limited will get you those features plus 18-inch aluminum wheels, a 7-inch gauge cluster display, blindspot monitoring, and leather-trimmed seats. The Trailhawk adds onto many of the Limited'sLimited's features with the Active Drive II AWD system and all-terrain tires. It also has a heated steering wheel and 17-inch black aluminum wheels as an option. Finally, the Overland is decked out with many of the features found in the other trim options plus interior wood trim, an automatic liftgate, the option of the turbo-four engine, and four-wheel drive.

How Much Power Does the Jeep Cherokee Have?

There are three engines available for the 2020 Jeep Cherokee. The 2.4-liter comes standard with the Latitude, Latitude Plus, and the Limited, has got four cylinders and generates 180 horsepower with 171 lb-ft of torque. There's also the 3.2-liter V6 that comes standard with the Trailhawk and the Overland. It puts out a whopping 271 horsepower and delivers 239 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed transmission. Finally, there is the 2.0-liter turbo-four, which is a four-cylinder engine that produces 270 horsepower and 295 lb-feet of torque.

Which Safety Features Are Available on the Cherokee?

The 2020 Jeep Cherokee scored low with the NHTSA receiving just four stars out of ten overall. It scored particularly low in the front-crash category and had low rollover test ratings. There is a safety package available with the 2020 Cherokee, but it's not standard equipment.
