What's New For the 2020 Jeep Renegade?

The 2019 Renegade was already fantastic the way it was, so the 2020 model has minor changes. This latest iteration of the first generation Renegade, adds more packages and available options on lower trims.

2020 Jeep Renegade Trims and Features

The Jeep Renegade has four main trim levels: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk, and three sub-trims, which add options and special exterior upgrades to the main trims: the Upland, Altitude, and High Altitude. The base Sport comes standard with a 5-inch touchscreen, USB port, Bluetooth, a fold-flat front passenger seat, a rearview camera, and heated and power-adjustable mirrors. A Sport Appearance package includes roof rails, privacy glass, 17-inch wheels. The Uconnect 7.0 Group includes a 7-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, smartphone integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The Latitude trim adds to the Sport's two packages with ambient LED lighting, automatic headlights, upgraded cloth upholstery, a second-row USB port, a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Latitude has a Cold Weather Group package that features heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and automatic wipers with de-icers. Limited is the luxury trim and includes the Cold Weather Group features and includes 18-inch wheels, keyless ignition (and remote engine start), and entry, a 115-volt household-style power outlet, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and an upgraded driver's information display.

Diehard off-roaders would opt for the Trailhawk trim. Its feature offerings are similar to the Latitude's combined with a few of the Limited's upgrades. It features 17-inch all-terrain tires, a full-size spare, tow hooks, four-wheel-drive with low-range settings, a raised suspension, underbody skid plates, unique interior, and exterior design accents, and hill descent control. Many upper trim features can be had on the lower trims as Jeep has many packages.

What's Under the Hood of the Renegade?

All trims except the Trailhawk come standard with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder that pushes out 180 hp. It gets 21 mpg in the city and 29 on the highway. The 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbo comes standard with the Trailhawk trim. This engine gets 177 hp, 22 mpg in the city, and 27 on the highway. The turbo is available on the other trims as well.

Technologies to Keep You Safe

Safety is a huge category for the Renegade models. It's the area where it has its most promising scores. Features such as Traction Control, Child Safety Locks, and Brake Assist. Other options, such as Lane Departure Warning and Lane-keeping assist, are available.
