What's New For the 2021 Jeep Wrangler?

The iconic Wrangler gets some impressive updates for 2021. This year, you can choose a hybrid engine to power your Wrangler for the first time. Along with an expanded list of engine options, the Wrangler is available in two special edition trims in 2021. The Rubicon, which is the top trim, is now available with four-wheel drive. More safety and technology features are offered, too, including an optional camera for off-road adventures. The Wrangler still has many options for a custom finish. It is available in either a two-door or a four-door configuration. The 2021 Wrangler is available in a hard or soft top.

What Features Are Available for 2021?

The 2021 Wrangler is offered in three trim levels for the two-door version. The four-door Wrangler is available in one trim level. Special edition variants are offered for the various trims. The first two-door Jeep Wrangler is the Sport. The Sport has a functional interior with a five-inch infotainment console, seating for five people, and manually locking doors. Its exterior features steel wheels, tow hooks, fog lights, and skid plates.

The Sport S has 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic air conditioning and windows, and a leather-encased steering wheel. The Rubicon, the top two-door Wrangler trim, has heavy-duty Dana axles, electronic locking differentials, a soft-top roof, rock rails, and a push-button start. The Sahara trim is only available as a four-door vehicle. This Wrangler gets automatic four-wheel drive, a front grille decorated with chrome accents and a larger seven-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Packages are available for all trims, including cold weather, advanced safety, and LED lights.

Featuring Great Performance

In 2021, the Jeep Wrangler is offered with gasoline, diesel, and hybrid engines. The base gasoline engine is a V6 that delivers 285 HP and 260 LB-FT in torque. The engine can be paired with a hybrid battery for a total power output of 375 HP and 470 LB-FT of torque. A turbo 2.0L gasoline engine that produces 270 HP is available. The diesel engine, reserved for the Sahara, produces 260 HP. The diesel engine has an automatic transmission, while the others have the option of a manual.

The higher-end trims of the Wrangler come standard with some safety technology, including blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic warning. An Advanced Safety Group is available with forward-collision mitigation and adaptive cruise control.
